One year ago, our Ten-Foot Tall Father, Barry Rahn, was diagnosed with cancer and he was only expected to live for a few weeks. But his Loyal, and Diamond of a Wife, Patricia Rahn, helped our Father survive and live a quality and fulfilling life. Our Father and the Rahn Family owe Pat, the Lovely and Caring Patricia, a lifetime of gratitude and thanks for the care and comfort she has provided. But it hasn't been easy and both Pat and Barry has suffered greatly.
But now we hope and pray that both Pat and Barry will receive comfort, joy and peace from the Prayers, Words and Thoughts that are being shared from family and friends all over the country. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining this Prayer Vigil for Pat and Barry, We are eternally grateful.
Thank You Very Much,
The Rahn Family

Heavenly Father, Your Word reminds us that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but one of love and a sound mind. I pray that this spirit remains with every caregiver when they are at work with their cancer patients. I pray that the possibility of death, pain and loss does not make them fear or interfere with their job of caring. But Lord, I pray that they will show love and peace to their patients so that they can feel Your presence during their care.
I love you all very much. I pray for you all always.
Micah 7:8
For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, The Lord will be my light.
1 Corinthians 13:13
For now there are faith, hope and love. But of these three the greatest is love.
2 Timothy 1-7
"God, you are my help and comfort; you shelter and surround me in love so tender that I may know your presence with me, now and always. Amen." (Episcopal Prayer) For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Lord of Power, You are the comfort for Barry & Pat, You are their shield, and You are their hope. In light of these events which have drained them and left them distraught – they cling to You. Lord, they need You and You alone to give them strength. Let them not drown in their emotions but to hold on to the hope You give them in Jesus. Whatever comes their way, it pales in comparison to the coming glory of Christ, and in that, they hope. Thank You that their true strength is to be found in Your name.
Amen.
A true warrior fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him. In the warriors code there is no surrender, though his body says stop… his spirit cries, never ! To hold it together when everyone would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength. You are a warrior. Warriors don’t back down. Pick up your sword, your shield, and fight.
Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Sometimes just getting up and carrying on is brave and magnificent. My beautiful Aunt and Uncle, you are the bravest people I know. Love you, Ann
Ephesians 6:13-18 NIV
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Stay strong. Wishing you all the best.
Once you choose hope, anything’s possible!

What a wonderful loving couple you have always been, with each always being there for the other and giving support to each other. Pat, you recently said Barry had always been your rock. Now it appears you are his his rock, and as hard as it is for you I am sure, you are doing an excellent good job at it.

“Family” isn’t defined only by last names or by blood. It’s defined by commitment and by love. It means showing up when they need you most. It means having each other’s backs. It means feeling each others struggles and pain. It means never giving up on each other. Sending my love and prayers to the entire Rahn family.
Wishing you peace, joy and strength. I will be thinking and praying for you.
Happy Birthday Pat! I hope you have a wonderful birthday and had memorial week!
Popop & Grandma- Growing up as your Grandson I always love hearing your stories. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very help in trouble.
Our thoughts are with you Barry. We have so enjoyed visiting with you and Pat at family events – you have always been so interesting and fun to speak with and your background and lifestyle are inspiring. I remember asking you how you kept yourself looking so youthful. Well, no alcohol – that was an obvious one. Then I ask what your diet consists of and one of your go-to’s was a lettuce sandwich. I say, wow, just bread and lettuce and you says, no, I use the lettuce instead of bread for the sandwich – now THAT’S how you look 60 at 80. VERY impressive.
Divine Mercy Prayer: Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
Amen.
Barry, I think of all the wonderful times we shared and get well soon. You are loved by so many and the proud father of four wonderful and successful sons. You are in my prayers always and always in my heart as well.
